Please help me with multiple rar’s
August 7th, 2016
Don’t quite understand. Have you downloaded all the rar parts. I use 7zip and never had a problem.
Thats not quite how it works.
You need to re-install…
Unless the rar files contains a complete disk image from a good state, then boot to rescue, and re-image.
Normally, I’d try to offer useful advice, But given the facts that you’re not tech savvy (And consider yourself a “complete idiot”) I’d say it’s probably be a waste of my time. I recommend you leave this one for the pro’s (Order a tech home, Or take it a computer store and have em take care of it for you!)
well for a start, you could tell us what o.s your going to install ?? and which one is corrupt then we can help you from there
as for multiple rar files, you only have to download an iso for the o.s you need to reinstal.
so a bit more information on your problem would help
EDITED:
Wrong answer.
It seems you guys, you don't understand what OP is trying to say.
and you did ???
and what smasher said has hit it right on the head You need to re-install...
seconded and as for multiple rar files to which you don’t have to go through all that hassle if you got a link for a windows untouched iso ( from z-bb ) just burn to disk and re-install. and plenty of fixes to make it genuine
i do think that i know what he is talking about. or think i do
I need a new OS because my other one is corrupt because I am an idiot. How can I take an OS from here where there are multiple RAR files and install. I have 7zip and WinRAR. Please explain as if you are telling a complete idiot. I've tried over and over again unsuccessfully. Just act like I'm a moron and you will help me. Every step will help me get one step closer to fixing my PC. Thank you.
1 – download all parts of the upload
2 – unpack them:
a – if it is xyz.part1.rar or xyz.rar (with additional r01, r02, etc files) then right click on the rar or the part1.rar and select Extract here or extract to <folder>.
b – if it’s multiple zip files then select all the zips and then right click – extract here, then go to [a] above when it’s done.
You should end up with a single 3 – 4 gig file, xyz.iso (xyz = file name)
3 – burn the iso to a blank dvd (I use ImgBurn, small, free, and works perfectly).
4 – make sure you have any data/pictures/etc you want to keep off your c: drive
5 – put dvd your just wrote in the dvd drive (or just leave it there after the burn)
6 – reboot the computer. NB – you might need to change your boot drive in the bios, or if your computer has a F12 boot menu (my acer laptop does), hit F12 to select to boot from the dvd.
7 – follow the installation options.
Just sent your pc to tech guy to get it fix
Thanks . Worked like a charm. I even managed doing a proper clean install, so this noob has, in a way, graduated from this problem. The tech guy wanted $270 dollars, I might as well of just bought a new computer. Unfortunately, my Toshiba Portege is an excellent laptop with all of my upgrades (SSD, RAM, Drive) and going strong after 4 years, so I’mm holding on to it until it really just stops working. Again, thank you to everyone for their suggestions. It was greatly appreciated.
the downside is you might of lost all the files that you had if it was all one partition
that is not an ideal way of doing it because it makes it difficult to reinstall and keep your files
it took nearly 12 months? your doing well lol
This is old news..
If you can’t solve Multiple rar parts in over a year..You may as well forget it..
