Probably. But you should write what your motherboard is. And what power supply you have.

Answer #3
that is a Brilliant Idea.
Tell us what u have and we will tell u what Should have !
Answer #4
well the motherboard is LGA 775 so it would support the Core2 but with the power supply, you will need a new one for sure atleast 500w
Answer #5
The E8400 goes in the LGA 775 socket, so you’ll be fine. As for the PSU, you’ll need a minimum of 400W. You don’t need more, but when it comes to power, you can never have enough. Aim for a 500W to 600W PSU, but get a good quality one.
Answer #6
Try to get a nice quality power supply, coz most low cost power supplies are crap.
The Processor will fit, congrats!
