November 18th, 2013

I am trying to format a dell optiplex gx620 (old crap ), which cd rom drive isnt workin, through usb. I downloaded a bootable xp iso and used all sorts of programs to make a bootable usb but only one started bootin but gave me a BSOD after some mins. Any1 can give me a prog or tell me how to make a bootable flash drive to install xp on this pc plz? Thx in advance
Answer #1
but gave me a BSOD after some mins
might be a bad harddrive
or
might be the XP you have does have AHCI/SATA drivers
see if you can set the hard drive controller to IDE
Answer #2
Use a Dell OEM XP sp3 ISO which will have the SATA drivers in it. (if it had XP on it in the first place then you won’t have to worry about a licence key)
WinToFlash is pretty easy to use
