No Audio Device

Hey, anyways long story short, I just installed winxp gaming edition, and everything is perfectly well except, I have no audio whatsoever and I literally spent almost 3 hours searching for answers in google since WBB was down, downloaded stuffs from realtek, toshiba, and everywhere else from the web. and I just can’t get it to work! It still says NO AUDIO Device, and when I go to device manager and uninstall, restart, it doesnt even redownload the drivers, please help lol! thanks

As, I’ve said I’ve downloaded literally all the drivers in the toshiba website that I could think of connected to the AUDIO DEVICE, still none work.

it shows in your device mgr as an unknown device ?

theres no sound in device manager, but earlier there was because I installed the Realtek ones I downloaded, then uninstalled the whole thing to see if it would just redownload the right ones, but downloading the realtek one didn’t help at all, right now no sound shows in device manager, there are two things in “Other Devices” though which is wlan and unknown device both with exclamation marks, and a 3rd one in “system devices” which is PCI Device

under properties/details for this get the hardware ID (VEN_ DEV_ numbers)

i had the same problem tryed every thing but i reset the cmos and it worked try that

Ok I went to it clicked properties and clicked Hardware IDS it says *PNP0700, is this the right one thats all it says.

that’s a chipset driver device
PCI Device
what’s properties/details for this, get the hardware ID (VEN_ DEV_ numbers if there)
