Network Management
September 27th, 2013
Either MS sucks at networking or I don’t know anything about it’s network interface. I can’t even see who’s in my network.
Thanks in advance.
Use a strong encryption password in your router settings..And the only people that will be able to connect is those who you supply the password to..
yea, I’ve done that already but how about seeing who’s on the network? I mean I want to be able to share stuff with my housemate and stuff, I wanna see computers connected to network and stuff?

I’ll give it a shot, thanks
Are you talking about a network from your router (just to connect to the internet) or are you talking about a Workgroup ?
To be able to share files on the network, you all need to have the same workgroup name and enabled file sharing, differs between flavours of Windows as to how to set it up.
Well, I guess I am talking about a Workgroup. I don’t quite know the difference really. What I want is being able to control computers that are in my network, workgroup whatever.
Here’s some basic guides on setting up a home network

As to what type of Network you setup, that will depend on whether you are using wi-fi, wired connections, and different versions of Windows.
If you give the specifics, people will be able to give you a more detailed explanation of how to do it.
