Bussiness Management software?

August 5th, 2016

Hi, I really need some help her folks… This will be for my boss and will really help me too =].
Im not sure at what kind of software I’m looking into it, but Ill explain our needs. My boss runs a paint companie, so each day we have people working at different jobs and different hours, so we have to write down the hours of each employer and them add to the jobsite they worked. We were looking for some kind of software that creates files for hours, jobsite, employer and at the end of the week it could give us the total amount of everything…
also for expenses if this is possible… like add how much we are expending on it and give us a total.
I dont know if I explained myself good enought but if is any question Ill be more than happy to try to explain it better…
thanks in advance.
Made.

That’s job cost accounting. I use QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Accountant Edition 12.0. It has an excellent job cost module. In a nutshell, you set up jobs in QuickBooks. In each job, enter the estimate you gave to your client. Then, every time you cut a paycheck or pay a bill, or make a cash disbursement, you deduct the cost (time/labor/materials/miscellaneous expenses) from the job. Then every time your client pays you, you add the payment to the job. That way you track your costs & revenue throughout the job and at any point in time, you’ll see if you’re going over or above the estimate so you can take steps to ensure a profit (if possible). The job cost module is independent from the various journals and ledgers (cash receipts/cash disbursements journals and accounts receivable/payables subsidiary ledgers and general ledger and general journal) as well as bank reconciliations, so you don’t have to worry about setting up a full-blown accounting system in it.
