NETGEAR Wireless Issue

I have a Netgear PCI G Card with a antenna, and my sister has a Netgear PCI Super G Card with the same antenna. Mine is 2x the distance and has to go through about 4 walls, hers is closer and only goes through 1.
The problem is before she got hers I was always connected, but now I get dropped every 2 minutes, it’s really starting to piss me off. What can I do to stop this?
I’m also taking hers cause it’s more powerful and hogging all the connection.
I have these options I can change:
2.4 GHz Preamble: Auto/Long/Short
Transmit Power: 100%/50%/25%/12.5%/Lowest
Fragmentation Threshold: 256 – 2432
RTS/CTS Threshold: 256 – 2432
I can also do Ad Hoc mode, will she be able to connect through my computer?
PLEASE HELP!
This is probably stupid, but with my connection (i have a netgear) it automatically configured itself to drop out if internet wasn’t used for 5 minutes – bloody annoying when i didn’t know what it was
just a thought
