need advice…win7 & x64 games
August 5th, 2016
i noticed a lot of new games in x64 and dicided to try them….
1. changed my system to win7 x64 from win7 x32…. no problems….
2. d/led 5 new games that require x64 to operate….
3. installed the 5 d/led games…still no problems….
4. tried to play the new games…. problem….
i get error message for all 5 new games that i installed…
its the error message (when goggled) that states that you are trying to run an x32 prog in a x64 system…(i don’t recall the # of the error)….
i also goggled help in resolving this issue but to no effect….
anyone know what i should do to get these games to work ????
any help is greatly appreciated…
p.s….
the games i tried are:
Assassins Creed Unity
Dead Rising 3 Apocalypse Edition
Dying Light
FarCry 4
Metro Redux Bundle
all gave same error message and do not start up…
Most if not all games should run on Windows 7 64 bit..Even older ones..
Is that the exact error you are getting?
Also what Graphics card?

, I would install both 32 and 64 bit Microsoft Visual C++ including 2013 Service pack 1. Along
with 2008/2010/2012. Or pick a year, install both 32/64 and see if that made a difference. if
still error, move to the next year version of Visual C++
i have on my sys….
Visual C++ 2005 (32/64)
Visual C++ 2008 (32)
Visual C++ 2010 (32/64)
Visual C++ 2012 (64)
Visual C++ 2013 (32/64)
Visual C++ 2010 Compilers sp1 (32/64)
net framework 4.5.2
SDK 7.1
Visual Studio 2012 (32/64)
Visual Studio 2010 sp1
Visual Studio 2013 sp1 (32/64)
PhysX 9.13
everything is the latest upgrades for all components..

Edt: might be worth doing a backup before tinkering
thanks for trying to help guys….
tried everything you all suggested to no avail….
read everything i ciuld find on net and tried all things that were suggested by other techs online….
nothing seems to correct this issue for me….
i throw in the towel on this one….
thanks again m8s….
Sorry to hear that bro, IMO you are only missing out on Dying Light (I know its no consolation but I’m enjoying it), not a fan of most of the others (son raves about FC4, and I’ve enjoyed the AC series but Unity bites).

Don’t give up!
have you tried a fresh install again,
install new game with minimum requirements from your system.
With minimum fresh install of windows, try new game again. One step at a time.

thats the point , i even didnt know , operating system can be changed from 32 bit to 64 bit without fresh installation , as i understand you did like that. if you do that , it is likely to have problems due to kernel memory which will still point the system is still 32 bit. and most important of all , did you uninstall 32 bit drivers and installed 64 bit drivers ? especially for gpu , this can be alone the reason of your problem
