Need advice before burning video games dvd’s

August 6th, 2016

Hi guys please can you give me some advice before burning PC video games dvd’s, like which the best burning software to use, what type of DVDs i should use ( +R or -R ) & how can i know if the DVD trademark are good to use, & which speed to use…any further advice will be helpful
Answer #1
Most software is fine, I use Imgburn for its simplicity. Generally Verbatims are the choice among most for its relative cost and low error rates. For DVD’s the errors are PI, PIF and PIO errors. Of course partial of the good burns is also determined by your burner.
Newer burners are good as they have greater medicode support.
If its a console, always try to get good disks as it may cost a bit of cash and headache to replace faulty laser diodes.
Answer #2
Use Nero
Wait, do they even still make that? Lol.
Answer #3
I’m using Nero Burning Rom 12, i have standard DVD packs *8 speed so usually when i burn PC Video Games i burn at 4* & i do the same with software & data is that good + should i start using verbatim DVDs despite that they are a little bit expansive & what about burning PS2 Video Games any advices

Moved from Off-Topic to Helpdesk.

Verbatims are fine. I max out all of the speeds regardless of speed rating of the disks. Consoles run fine and errors are in spec. Yep, Verbatim or Mitsubishi DVD-R 16x 50 or 100 packs.
Went through 400 disks and 6 burners so far.
Low speeds yield poor burning strategies and are more prune to errors, burn the disks at the speeds designed for or faster. Verbatim at 24x haha.

Gotta agree with Verbatim -r disks and imgburn you can’t go wrong.

Hell yes, I’ve burned more PS2 games than Xbox 360 games.
Did benchmarks in one of every 10 samples. And I threw away old disks in batches of 30 after I did a backup with Verbatims. If your paranoid like me, you can benchmark the burns using K-Probe (Lite-On burners) or DVDinfopro.
Sure if you burn with Princo 4x or 8x disks at 16x, you would definitely get coasters.
The 16x batch is still good, but compared to Verbatims, they are rubbish. Good Mitsubishi or Verbatim Disks are MCC04 or MCC03RG20.
Sorry but I refer disks via medicodes, respectively they are DVD+R 16x and DVD-R 16x. In my personal opinion, most people really lack information and we nerds are getting the things done properly.
Make sure its a batch from Taiwan, not from India.
Taiwan is made by CMC Magnetics while India is made by Moser Baer and they are ~love~. You can locate it by looking at the cake box’s sleeve.

Are you making them for back up purposes? Or to install the games? If its to install the games consider virtual clonedrive it’s free and will mount the iso and your pc will think it’s in the DVD drive.. Then you can install it w/o burning anything.. Also imgburn and any DVD should be fine I been using Memorex for years bc they are affordable and readily available and I’ve never had a problem
