I am a PC user tring to update a friends Mac so a whole new world for me a bit. His is a MacBook with duo core 2.2 and 4GB ram. Anyway I have been able do upgrade it from what he had Leopard to Lion using downloads from here but anything above that it won’t and I get a pop up about the apple store not able to verify or something. So what I want to know is are there any downloads here that I can install to get Yosemite? or what I need to do to get higher? Thanks!!!

If standard yosemite doesn’t work you can try yosemite zone. It’s normally for hackintosh but it has various patches that can make it works for old hardware.
