Looking for free (or paid but cheap) web hosting

I simply want to run my own personal web site with a blog and a few other things such as a forum, chat room etc. and am after free hosting without ads or if anyone can recommend any cheap paid hosting or any offers for paid hosting that are available.
I’ve tried several free hosts: 000webhost won’t accept me as for some reason I used them in the past and my domain is already in the database (but the account is suspended), x10hosting which I used terminated my account for running a nulled forum script and bplaced.net (aside from being in german which is slightly annoying) has just suspended my account for having a chatroom.
I’m asking here because I would rather trust recommendations then random google searches. I am also beginning to consider paid hosting as repeatedly getting suspended/banned and having to sign up to new hosts is getting tedious.

depends on what space and bandwidth you need..

In the past and was very good.. they allow nulled scripts, + porn linking..
3gig space and 100GB bandwidth for $3 with up to 10 sites..

My personal website is actually through T35 they really do have 99% uptime and has nice bandwidth. The space is not so much but it is cheap, for personal use it’s only a 1GB space. (fine if you use host services like how people share here) but you can upgrade.
I will be changing host to GoDaddy for the space but I will be paying more.

I used zymic for awhile, but it started to become a lag whore so I had to switch servers after awhile. But it was good for awhile. Other then that I would try bluehost, it’s pretty cheap for unlimited everything that hosting offers.

I host my blog on ASO (A Small Orange) and I’m very satisfied. 750MB diskspace and 15GB bandwidth for 5$ a month.

If you are really serious of making money then forget about free domain name and free hosting. I think no one is so broke as not have 10 bucks to invest. If you are posting here means you have invested in internet and that costs money. So my suggestion is buy a domain (some hosts provide free TLD domains) and a paid hosting (does not cost more than 50 bucks).
Personally i use www.xwebhosting9.com
Don’t forget the ‘9’ at the end.
