lan connection cable for gaming

August 4th, 2016

hi all,
i have a big problem
We have an Aspire X3300
on our PCs running Windows 7 Home Premium
me and my brother wonna play some civilization 5 and call of duty world at war (nazi zombie)
on lan
we or connected with wifi, we share files and stuff… and no problems here
it begins when we wonna play games
we or connected by wifi so i tought we could play games together
so that didnt work
so i bought me a rj 45 cable for connecting pc to pc
so we plug them in and we get a unknown network
so i typed on tcp/ip
192.168.0.1
and on my bro’s pc
192.168.0.2 and try again, going to the game, game on lan, setting up a server and again “nothing”
so maybe somebody can help us, plz help :p

Answer #2
no error we just dont see each others game when we wonna lan and thats with evrygame we try
yes its a crossover cable, we can share files… so we have a lan bud dont see each others game server when we wonna lan
I recently had a lan party and it worked all right
we did it with a hub and regular Ethernet cables.
Answer #3
you have a firewall active ?
Answer #4
the firewall of AVG on boths pc’s
Answer #5

Answer #6
damn I thought it worked
We see the server that we make and all that was not in the beginning
but if we want to join, its says “connecting to game session” ” this game session is no longer available” when this message whas on the lan party, we just resetted the hub and evrything worked fine again but here we or connected with the cable, dont know what to do now

direct connected with a crossover cable
1 is hosting, other 1 only needs to join.
we tryed a few things
fire walls off and then start the game … and then we get the same. we see the server but can not join.
I’ll try the same but when I put the host TCP / IP to 192.168.0.1
and the other at 192.168.0.2
and then we get the same thing I see the server but I can not join
I can still try with an ethernet cable …
2 hours later
when we where testing some things i tought maybe i must try 1 by 1 i unplugged the lan cable and just tryed on wifi without firewall and it worked :p
sorry for you’re time and sorry that we are stupid
