Is this ssd any good? Crucial

The best way to look up whether or not a product is reliable is to check consumer reviews on amazon or newegg
In this case, the newegg reviews are extremely positive, thus signifying that the SSD would be a good purchase

All SSDs will fail as they only have a limited amount of write cycles.
but then again HDDs fail too since they have so many moving parts
and the platters can be damaged etc.
SSDs are awesome to have as the OS drive. That is mainly what I use them for
then have HDD for actual storage.
