Is my Irish ISP blocking safelinking.net?
August 12th, 2013
I guess this is mostly just a question for Irish members, and even more particularly Irish members using UPC broadband, but I’ve noticed in the last week that safelinking.net will not load for me.
I thought maybe it was been blocked so I looked up how to find out if that was the case. The site I found mentioned typing in the IP address of safelinking to see if that loads the site, which didn’t work. Next, it said to use a proxy site to test if it worked using that, and it did. Unfortunately, the page loaded without any way of entering the captcha code so I still couldn’t access the links.
Just wondering if any other UPC customers have had similar problems, or is something just on my end. Have searched around and can’t seem to find anyone else mentioning it.
Thanks for any help!
It’s OK here, London UK
Try using a different DNS server, eg. Google or Open DNS. Complain to your ISP to remove the block, the site is not illegal in anyway.
Safelinking is up and down like a yoyo – just avoid posters that use it.
You can just use this site to see if something is down for just you or everyone else, no need for a thread.

PS: You can just Google it man…

If your ISP is blocking something, DNS will not help you.
That only helps if your ISP’s DNS servers do not have the records.
Safelinking is done mate. Just ignore it,incase u wanna open links use safeunlinking.com
yes my ISP blocked WU and bitshare and google DNS works for me.
Thanks for the replies everyone.
I wouldn’t usually use links to safelinking, but I was looking for one episode of something I’d lost before and could only find it posted there.
I’ll give Google DNS a go and see if that works, and also ask my ISP if they are blocking it and why (as they’ve been very good in the past for not blocking sites or throttling users).
Thanks again!
^^^It won’t be them specifically blocking it as such, just that their DNS server sucks (if you can get to it using Google/Open DNS), they should have an alternative server to give you to use, ask them.
best of luck
