Is it safe to have cracked Steam games on your PC?

I’ve had a few for months and nothing’s ever happened to my Steam account in terms of bans or anything like that.
However, just a few minutes ago I was playing Sonic Generations (cracked), and when I closed the game, I noticed I had Steam running with my legit unbanned account logged on.
I always take precautions before playing a cracked game, like closing Steam before running the game, however this time I forgot about it…
Should I be worried if my Steam will get banned?

Your worrying too much.
I have my $2000 Steam account at stake, so why should you worry.
Valve doesn’t waste their time like the RIAA or MPAA.
