Is it possible to remote control a computer from a diff room

August 5th, 2013

Say I want to have a desktop computer in room A but hook it up to my TV in room B… is it possible (while I’m lying in bed) to remote control it (say with a mouse or remote) from the other room? If so, how?

You can use this website

You can control the other computer from this website.
Answer #2
Dont use third party solutions like vnc, teamviewer etc they’re all a massive waste of bandwidth compared to remote desktop protocol.
Give the local account a password if it hasnt got one allready and enable remote desktop access. On the client open remote desktop and enter the ip or name of the computer and set the connection to lan/t1.
For access on the tv you can use hdmi combined with usb over erthernet.
Answer #3
If you have it hooked up in your room and you are viewing it on a tv it would be silly to use any remote desktop software. Simply use a wireless mouse/keyboard or if you have an Android/iOS phone there are many apps out there that you can use as a wireless mouse/keyboard.

Hold on a sec.
I don’t think anyones understood your question.
If in room A there is a computer, I’m assuming that in room B you wouldn’t want to put a computer right but to have a TV? (So remote access becomes useless because there is no computer in room B)
1. Purchase a video transmitter to transmit from Room A to Room B or you can run long a.s.s VGA, DVI, HMDI cable
2 Buy a wireless keyboard and mouse (Make sure it is runs on the wireless 2.4GHZ channel especially if you have brick walls)
3. Enjoy
Answer #7
well you could purchase a really long hdmi cable if you have an hdtv or and use a wireless key board and mouse or use your smart phone to get the keyboard and mouse use Mobile Mouse Pro if you have an iphone or ipad or ipod i think it works on andriod havn’t looked it up on android devices but that is a really good solution but that is a good solution to your problem

Yeah this is how, I run two monitors off my PC a 19″ Monitor and a 42″ TV Set to Clone my monitor all you would have to do is have a longer cable (long enough to get from one room to the other to do the same) Then wire up a decent wireless mouse and keyboard from there.
But tbh… If you want to play in a different room why dont you just move your PC surely that more logical than doing all this?
Alternatively if your on a wireless network you could (with some new TV’s) connect directly to your wireless and recieve information to your TV via your network (though these are few and far between)
