Installing a custom ROM on my android!

August 5th, 2016

Complete noob here, own GT-I8262, running stock version of android, had it with the bloatware taking up my memory/ram and slowing my device, so I wanna upgrade with a custom ROM! Questions: 1. how to back up my stuff?
2. which custom rom to install and how (running windows 8)?
3. how to make this process very time efficient? I want to install the rom, restore my messages/contacts/files/apps/settings in the shortest possible time xD
thanks in advance

Here’s some more to be shore, to be sure..
https://www.google.com.au/search?q=gt-i8262+custom+rom&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=kyAaV_WuDoa6jwOYtZiQCQ
www.freaktab.com is another pretty good forum. (need to sign up to search)
Answer #4
actually it’s very easy to navigate. See the search box on top of XDA forum? Type your model number in there “GT-I8262” That’ll pop up your device specific forum section aka “Samsung Galaxy Core”. General section => Galaxy Core development index: takes you to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2662742
where the rooting header takes you to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2506661
Once you’re rooted:
1. Install a custom recovery (TWRP if possible)
2. Do a nandroid backup in case something goes wrong
3. choose a rom in from either of these 2 sections. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-core/development or http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-core/orig-development and follow the instructions

but all these roms are outdated, and ppl say they ave issues!
Answer #6
Your better off rooting the device and delete the stuff you don’t want.

no, they continuously working / updating on the new ROMS and related stuff, you have to dive in that sea to have gems
register yourself and ask them what you want… definitely you will have the answer, but some time you have to wait because they are busy people, busy to help us !!

Answer #9
first unroot your mobile…u can have lots of application on playstore to do that…my favourite is KINGOROOT
Answer #10
once rooted install titanium backup from playstore then install lucky patcher , patch titanium back up and it will become full version then use titanium back to “freeze” systems apps as opposed to removing them they will also be invisble to the system making your android much more tidy
