Installing a 2nd Hard Drive

i have watched several video’s on this but i wanted to ask here as well cause you guy’s have helped me before & i trust this place..my question is how hard is it to install a 2nd hard drive? can i just crack the case & plug & play or is it more to it then that? any help on this would be greatfuly appreciated

Very very easy…Most drives today are sata..Just 2 small connectors…You can’t go wrong..They only connect one way…Once connected and booted the bios will automatically detect the new drive…

be sure you have enough plugs for the drive. and remove static

see i love z, just for people like the two of you but 1 more time like just plug & play? & does it matter if the hard drive im installing already has something on it?

Nope…It doesn’t make no difference if the HD have data in it or not…

4 screws and 2 plugs…other than installing RAM it’s probably the easiest thing to do when putting together a computer.

i have it installed but it’s not showing the 2nd drive??

You may have to assign it a drive letter in Disk Management. Does it appear in the BIOS?

press the power button to start the PC and press delete during the POST screen (usually black with grey text) to get to the BIOS (Blue screen background).

your 1st boot to windows after installing it, was there a “new hardware found” pop-up
