Installed pc game to D:\Games Install froze. Can’t uninstal

March 5th, 2014

*** I changed install path to D:\Games (have user folders relocated there, thats about it, no programs ever installed on d data partition.)
Installation froze and locked up first time. Had to power off to get out.
Second time was logged off my admin account by nephew while installing, though the install ran for a long time – should have completed
anyways, after installing, it’s not showing anywhere: checked box for install desktop shortcut – not there, not showing up under win start> all programs or games…
Tried to launch directly from install path folder… blackops.exe
ERROR says: “Blinkw32.dll missing…
1) Can’t uninstall! Not showing up as installed program. Uninstaller in game directory won’t work says corrupt.
** There are 2 uninstall.dll ( 1 for each failed install I guess)
2a) Windows didn’t recognize as a program install cause no restore point created before
– not listed as program, can’t uninstall from control panel
2b) HOW DO I REMOVE (BOTH) FAILED INSTALLS …
Do I just delete the entire install path folder? or did the installer likely create all kinds of entries in various other locations that would possibly leave HUGE files elsewhere???

Answer #1
First lunch the game installer and see if you get the play option…If you only get the install option..Then just go ahead and delete the folder..
You can also force the install by using something like Your Uninstaller…
Also a good idea to check your HD for bad sectors..
Answer #2
if I launch the installer, like from the mounted iso setup.exe file?
no, i don’t think it does anything but gives the option to install…
You don’t think it installed any other entries elsewhere on the computer (like in c boot partition) I’d need to clean up somehow?
how would I check for bad sectors? chkdisc command thing (technical term, you know..)
Thanks for reply!
Answer #3
Nope..I don’t think there is any registry entries..Otherwise you won’t get the install option…
