August 8th, 2016

OK, I see my friends are getting e-mails in my name lol, ads, and stuff..
how to stop this !?

Answer #1
Dunno, I’m getting spam from people i know irl as well. Probably some kind of virus or spyware program, best to search and disinfect your pc.
Answer #2
boot in safe mode and do scan with malwarebytes
Answer #3
Moved from Off-Topic to Helpdesk.
Answer #4
Blast your PC with virus scans, you are infected.
Change you email password on an UNINFECTED computer as your email username and password has been hacked. If your friends click on those links sent in your name, they risk getting their Windows registry screwed up and hence, not being able to boot their OS and ultimately screwing up their computer, including important data and software, not to mention time.
Answer #5
Guys, I’m 100% sure i’m not infected, but ok, I’ll try the scannings
Answer #6
Are you using something like hotmail or gmail? That happens to everyone at some stage imo. Too easy to hack tbh,.
Answer #7
im @ hotmail.
Listen, I’m 100% sure im not hacked or something , trust me
I never open my email from other pc’s, and My pc is highly secured, nearly never without Anti V, and spywa protection..
even without anti v, I can protect myself, as I know where viruses can come from..
This may be a result, from me, being registered in some webpage, and they maybe send invitations and stuff from my e-mail (the e-mails are not being sent 100 a day lol.. just one in a week, or who knows when..)
Answer #8
You might be subscribed, and clicked to send this email to all your people in contact list.
Answer #9
I have the same problem LOL and scanned with eset- no infections found
Answer #10

nope, I never do that
except, if that question was in the ‘agreement’ package.. and as we all know, thats the biggest lie ever, when clicking I RED & AGREE

People still don’t get it that when e-mail are being sent in your name it doesn’t have to mean that your pc is infected, or that they have access to your e-mail account.
I guess it’s not possible to stop it, anyone can send an e-mail under someone else s name.(ANYONE!)
Answer #12
it is probably a botnet, so get a GREAT antivirus/spyware/rootkit etc like kaspersky

I know thats possible too, but I’ve checked some of ‘my e-mails’ that they are getting, and they are 100% from my e-mail lol
I’ve done those ‘idiotic’ stuff myself, with mail bombers and stuff and I know.. I guess theres Definitely a GOD!

That is true that anyone can send email under someone elses’ name. To be fully sure whether this is the case or not, check 1. whether the email sent under your name is sent to all of your contacts or just random contacts that even you do not know of. 2. If any of your foreign friend receives such emails from you, ask him to check the header of the email and find out the source location of the country, whether is it your country or someone else’s?
3. Try to find the time of the emails that are sent through your email account. Does it happen when you are also online or random?
Answer #15
Maybe try to change the password?
If you are 100% sure your computer isn’t infected, how else could someone gain access to your account?
I don’t think hotmail is so easy to hack…

Hmm no clu, the only way(that I know of) is that people need access to your e-mail I guess.
P.S My reply wasn’t aimed @ you, but everyone:p
Answer #17
The only way for this to work, excluding Hacked, is that the web-pages we are registered, are sending those mails !
I know some pages, the moment you join them, they aotumaticaly send invitations to all your contacts.. That may be the case!
Answer #18
Try Spam Assassin, antispyware/antivirus software. and a fire wall
