I forget the exact steps but you want to do a custom install so that it doesn’t ask for the license key beforehand and create the virtual disk without installing the operating system. After you create just the virtual disk, then you can edit your properties and add the installation ISO. That will bypass vmware asking to enter the license key automatically.

ok will be trying it right now
Answer #4
Ok I successfully installed Microxp 0.82 in Vmware Workstation 9. Here is my tutorial that might be useful for future use.
1.Burn Microxp to a cd.
2.Create a new virtual machine
Select Custom[advanced]
3. select I will install the operating system later
4.now select other for guest operating system and
Select other for version
Steps 1 to 4 are most important and should be like this.
Now you can continue with the setup wizard and complete other parameters for the installation.
You can choose your own options according to your requirements.
After completing the installation wizard, you can now power on your virtual machine.
Now click on VM tab in vmware workstation
Click on power
Click on power to bios
Now look for the option to boot from cdrom drive and select this and saved in bios/cmos.
Insert your Microxp cd into dvdrom drive
Restart your vm and the installation will start.
After installing microxp, you can edit the settings by selecting windowsxp under select guest operating system and then you can install vmware tools in microxp.
Hope that helps
