How can I burn an MKV file to DVD without losing quality?

September 1st, 2013

Is there a way that I can burn an MKV file to DVD without losing quality and resolution? I have been using ConvertXToDvd4 for a while now and it works fine but the video quality isn’t as good when I convert the file to DVD. I know that re- encoding a video file will cause a loss of quality. Is there there another way around this? Also is there a way to burn the MKV file to DVD without losing resolution?

1) Split the .mkv and burn as Data-DVD
2) Other way: remultiplex the .mkv into BDMV file structure (.m2ts-files)…
3) why burning Matroska anyways?

Resolution of DVDs ..
DVD Videos are all in standard resolution..
PAL DVD’s are 576×720
NTSC DVD’s are 480×720
(Blu-ray Movies are 1080×1920)
If your .mkv is higher resolution than a DVD, if will be reduced, no way to avoid that.
If your MKVs and your TV have greater resolution, consider using a media player to play them..
