Help with configuring ANY download manager in linux

August 6th, 2016

I have installed gwget, aria and d4x and I can’t configure any of them to work with my premium rapidshare account… all they do is download 5.x KB and say the file is downloaded!
I realize it’s a configuration setting I’m missing here, but I’m having no luck at all… the tutorials I’ve found here all seem to deal with windows and as such are mostly useless to me.
I’m using Ubuntu 7.10. I’ve set my account to direct downloads in the options. I’ve even tried to create a cookie with wget to make this work, but it’s not.
What I would really like to end up with is a simple cut and paste solution for downloading files. I have no issue using the CLI to set the thing up, but want something simple to use. I’ve been using downloadthemall inside firefox, but don’t want to have to redo all steps for each rar file.
can someone please point me in the right direction? Search does not seem to be working on the site at all lately.

Answer #1
They do not work with Rapidshare Premium accounts, the login details are only good for a single download and not multiple files, that’s been my experience so far.
Answer #2
I have not even had success with single files though….
what, in your experience do you seem to find works best?
Answer #3
do the dload managers have an option where you can put RS premium login details?
myb that’s where you’re missing

That was the firstthread I found ( and tried! ) I’ll try to get aria going again, since they figured it was the best bet.
I’ll post here if I get it working
Answer #7
Finally!!! Aria works!!!
Contrary to any web postings you see anywhere… DO NOT USE COOKIES WITH IT!!!
Once I told it to not use cookies, it authenicated right away!
Thanks , for pointing me back to where I started!!! Once I realized aria and wget were not the same (Aria does not use wget) configuring it fell right into place.
