Jdownloader is an obvious choice for those who dont have an RS account. Managers like FG, IDM etc can support resume and that is only for RS premiums. You can test a pause resume with out an account but saying now, it wont work

Orbit is pretty good, and I heard it supports free RS.com downloads.
you can go on all day with these arguements but the fact of the matter is just get a account and decide what download manager you find easier. I paid one month for one of my accounts i now have 3 prem accounts and havent paid for any of them in almost a year.
