Help With Codecs

August 5th, 2016

I have some AVI movies that I want to burn to a DVD on a friend’s computer. But their computer identifies the video as audio only. What codecs do I need to view the video?
Answer #1
xvid codec is probably your best choice
Answer #2
Download GSpot (available in Apps), open the AVI file and click Render. It will then tell you what codecs you need on your friends PC. Saves installing bloated codec packs.
Answer #3
Okay, I got the divx codec and it plays on the computer.
what program should i use to burn it? Windows Movie Maker still only identifies the file as audio.
Answer #4
Burning as data files just burn with Nero to get as many as you can on one DVD. If you want to convert them to DVD, ConvertXToDVD will do a good job.
Windows Movie Maker??? Why would you want to use that?
