help with audio

August 6th, 2016

hi,
i previously had 32 bit windows 7 home installed.
my computer was acting up so i did a reinstall of win 7 with the 64 bit ultimate edition.
windows installed all my drivers including the sound.
the front panel doesnt work, its all plugged in correctly to the mobo but when i try to plug in either my speakers of my headphone they dont work.
only the back panel is working for speakers but not the mic.
can anyone help me with this its driving me nuts!!
ive tried uninstalling the windows drivers, updating them, intalling realtek hd audio drivers but nothing is working.
before when i had home, i had realtek audio manager but its not installed on ultimate….
please someone help me

Answer #1
It’s possible your sound card blew out some how. It happens often for mobo sound cards to die. I’d suggest getting a sound card in the mean time.
Answer #2
Some motherboards have jumpers for switching the audio to the front panel, or to the back panel – have a check in your manual to see if it has jumpers for that. The mic input might have blown though, it happened on my brothers MSI board a while back.

ok front panel stereo is working now,
well i downloaded driver genuis and i ran a scan, it found a few audio drivers.
ive installed them and have got both front and back panels sound working, only the mic is not working on both front and back.
tested with 2 different mic’s, the only mic that is responding is my webcams inbuilt mic.
the green bar is showing activity when i talk into it but its not working.
it recognizes the headphones and mic being plugged into the front and back panel but still won’t work!
i have realtek audio manager back on, ive tried a few things in that but still cant get the mic working which is the one thing i need to be working right now!!
any other suggestions are welcomed
thanks guys Smile
btw nothing inside the case has been touched.
all ive done is just reinstalled windows and from home 32 bit to ultimate 64.
