Don’t read it all at once since history got lots of crap in it. Just study it chapter by chapter or anyway you think is right & easy on your head. I had the same prob in biology..it’s more of a memorizing subject than understanding so just organize your time to study a few hours aday & finish 1/4 of it then the other 1/4..til you’re done.
hope this helps~~
Answer #10
repetition helps most people remember things, if you write or read something enough you will eventually remember it
Answer #11
dude, first consider history has an interesting subject…then try to keep the name of historic persons to ur friens u wont need to memorize ,then watch movies related to history or articles related to history

the first thing you need to do is change your attitude.
history is a subject that requires absolutely no skill to be good at. you just have to remember things – it just doesn’t get any more basic than that. no equations or concepts to understand – just facts.
so first of all, don’t just read – pay attention. to help you do this, take notes as you read. write down important events, people, and dates. how things happened, and why they happened. if you write things down in your own words, this forces you to actually think about it a little bit. later, go over your notes, and see if you can put the story back together. that’s all history is – a bunch of stories. remember the stories you read, and you’ll ace the exam.

Great.
mate how old are you? i see that you post wise answers.
No one can help you if you don’t want to learn, you must force yourself if you dont like history, try to motivate yourself like this will be only this time and never more or something like that.

Answer #20
Well, I’m 16 and the way I study is (I really don’t just forewarning) I read a bit of the text book every night, maybe 5-10 pages (I did this for social, and I’ll do it again for my social class this year) and I really, really payed attention in class because what the teacher is saying is usually more simplified than in the text book. I could skip 20 pages at a time because I knew all the facts from when the teacher was talking. Even slight references to the text will be a big clue to what the test might be about, so just watch for those.
(No, I’m no super nerd, I just get by in school. I hardly ever do my homework too.. ha ha)
But thats all I have for now, If I think of something more, I’ll post it after school.
Answer #21
Don’t rote learn. Just thread through it as many times u can and try n understand the facts that it states.
Answer #22
Another thing you could do is (yea, I’ve been thinking about this all day… ha ha) ask your teacher for a review booklet and try to answer as many questions as you can without looking in your textbook. After all, practice makes perfect, right? Just make a copy of the page you wanna work on and read the textbook stuff on it and then wait a lil and answer the questions.
Also, for your test, just be relaxed. Go in thinking you’ll pass, and usually you will if you know your stuff. Just as I said before, listen in class, it helps a LOT.
