Help me find cables for a semi-modular PSU

August 7th, 2016

Hello guys,
My friend bought a used semi-modular PSU, now we need to find some cables for it. My question is, will any cable work for it, or we’d have to buy some specific ones for that same PSU.
Thank you.

Answer #1
Got to be more specific than that. Brand, model. Why don’t you email the oem support email.
Answer #2
Yes, they can be pretty much different between brands and models..

Edit….If you get hold of some cables and want to see if they will match, check the color of the wire against the designation on the PSU…
Wires coming out of an ATX PSU are color-coded as follows:

Yellow: +12V

Red: +5V
Orange: +3.3V
Black: Ground

Purple: 5V SB (standby voltage)
Green: /PS_ON (it can be shorted to ground to start PSU)
Grey: PWR_OK (status signal generated by PSU to indicate voltages are OK)
White: -5V (optional on newer ATX-2 PSUs)
Blue: -12V

There are markings which show tolerances on the cables, of course you have to know the requirements of your PSU and you also have to know what you read on the cable Better contact the company that made the PSU and ask for replacement as it has been already mentioned.

Can someone help me find the correct ones online, so I can buy them?

This is so confusing for me lol.
Can you guys help me buy one cable for CPU, VGA and HDD? This is a semi-modular PSU, so the motherboard cable is attached to the PSU by default.
I mean, PM me some direct links from where to buy them. Searching for them manualy makes me scared of f-ing it up lol.
Answer #7
Contact the company and ask for replacements. Also, now that I think about it, the cables are probably universal given the fact that they are designed for exact the same voltages and similar currencies so if you find cables with the same socket at a local shop just buy them, you won’t have problems.
Answer #8
Buy another psu.

That’s not the question. Let’s not focus there okay? There’s no cables, and I need to find cables. That’s the important thing.

Yeah, I also meant you should ask the manufacturer, or seller for new cables
