Thats right jailbreakme will work just dont apply the latest patch as it blocks the website from jailbreaking your device.
dont buy an ipad, better go for an iphone 4

my nokia E72 can do more useful things than that
Only get the iPad if you want the same features as an iPod touch/iPhone but bigger.
Just ensure the iPad has firmware 3.2 and NOT 3.2.2 otherwise you will unable to jailbreak. Those Apple employees are a snidey bunch.

and i dont want a iphone 4g i think myself i doesnt look that good the desinge and i already got an iphone 3gs and im fine with that but when i go to bed i always wanne play a game or when i go to school with the train or at school

I would suggest you wait for the Adam release, i know its almost in December but its worth it
