gettin xbox360 controler to work on my pc

.i’m trying to get my 360 controler to work on my pc running vista premium ( yes i know grrr) and it works for the games that came with the pc..but not games i’ve d/loaded from here or bought and i have no reason why..i’ve d/loaded the drivers for it to..yes the compatible ones for vista..ANYONE KNOW WHY IT DOES THIS?

It’s a software that allows you to use a controller even if a game doesn’t allow the use of it. Good luck ^_^
