like XFS
MSI
PNY and etc?
nVidia makes a reference card and sells it to different manufacturers like like XFS, MSI & PNY and etc
they may add options & have diff memory sizes but they are basically the same
oooo ok thanks and can you pick out a good one around the range of 100? of the 8800 series
please
What do you mean a range ? You don’t know what model is good ?
nope
XFX is a great make of Nvidia cards
EDIT: forgot Inno3d too
inno3d?
Well, you can buy an GT model, because it is cheaper and in some thing it “cuts” GTS … But of course, price is approved, because the GTS, GTX are faster than GT, so for the last fact: buy the card that you can supply with your power supply, and of course, how much money can you give for that card. More expensive, that better – trust me …
XFX is the best, but if you can, buy original from NVidia … If you live in USA … And in other hand PNY is very good, so it can stand shoulder to shoulder with XFX … Your choice, your money …
whats the power supply have to do with it and can you explain that in an easier way so that someone who doesn’t know anything about computer specs can understand?
Well, i recommend Tagan BZ 1100 about of 1100W … In other hand this is a little nuclear plant, be aware that you will receive a bigger checks for electricity … I don’t know will you clock the card or not ? These kind of supply is recommended by Nvidia, and it is very expensive … it is for SLI …
If you don’t want SLI you can choose a Tagan’s suppliers for about 350 to 600 W … 8800 cards use about 140 to 150 W of power so… you logically can do the rest …
like how much more do i gotta pay for the electricity and what is the clock on the card thing
You will need to pay all the time, man… if you use double 8800 gtx’s, man, a big check… And a overclocking of the card is “rising” its latency r “power” above the manufacturers config., so it is sometimes risky …
post your system specs, cpu, motherboard, ram,how many watt ,…
well about the 8800 series, there are atm 2 8800GT’s old and the new the old one uses the old core and the new the new G92 core. for the best bang for bucks you should get the new 8800GT you could choose for the GTS but it is only 10% more performance for much more money and the GTX and the Ultra version are even way expensiver. for power supply, most computers dont need more as 600 watt. get an decent brand powersupply though so an brand like enermax, zalman or something simular. and what brand videocard, most companies sell good cards. but companies like XFX overclock most of their cards they sell so you are sure you can get some more performance out of them when ya overclock your card.
hope this gives you enough info:)

Get eVGA they have the Step-Up program plus a good warrety. Otherwise go with PNY.
well you also pay more for evga
I still prefer Evga, BFG would be my second choice.
