Gas cigarette lighter capacity
August 8th, 2016
Been googling but can’t find out why some lighters will run much much longer than others..
Is it just the size of the tank, size of the flame, or do some run under higher pressure and have more capacity ?
I’m sure that someone who is scientifically inclined could come up with answer

BTW. I got this fancy one the other day, that cost me $2.50. It is covered in dolphins and plays a tune when you open it. However I did notice that the music appeared to lag the flame a little. I’m not sure if this runs at a constant velocity or whether the striker has been set for a variable hit rate. Do you think they should use a more suitable container ?
lmao fancy lighter for 2.50 zippo’s can cost $20+
but some lighters allow you to adjust the flame height (which, if you take it apart and mess around) can let you have flames over 4 inches high
it would make sense for pressure and amount of gas to have an effect though
(sry, probably didnt answer your question, just putting in my thoughts)

all of those things affect how long it will last, a standard bic:
Extra long-lasting. Up to 3000 lights!

there are to many variables to make a lighter calculator.
Does the music play when you open it or when its lit?

these types of disposable lighters that can be adjusted for 4 inch flame and will empty quicker, when the flame is bigger.
butane/disposable lighters are under pressure.
zippo lighters are not, and are easy to fill.

or do some run under higher pressure
I’m guessing yes, the cheaper lighters have a thinner, less sturdy casing than a bic
there for less gas for the same size because it’s under lower pressure so stick that in your pipe an smoke it !
This is the third cigarette related thread i’ve seen from you, bit addicted are we?!
the one you are talking about probably is a butane lighter. usually where you put the fuel in the the brass part has two notches so you can turn it like a screw. turn it towards the plus for a bigger flame, but it will run out of fuel faster. turn it towards the minus, for a smaller flame (might possibly be different colors from red to you to blue )
Bics seem to last the longest, in my experience.
My Grandma uses bics
^^ yea bics are the best, i have one and used it for 6 months now, and its only about half way.
i also have one of those bic cases that are so cool,
u can almost turn it into a zippo
