games don’t work
January 21st, 2020
but i can’t play some games : dirt, frontlines fuel of war, gears of war, gird, kane and lynch dead men, mass effect, stalker clear sky, maybe more, that’s all i tried.. i reinstalled stalker 3 times .. same thing: the spalshscreen appears and stais like that .. on every games mentioned above
some games do work: alone in the dark, assassins creed, blacksite area 51, cod4, crysis 1, 2, devil may cry 4, lost planet, far cry 2, flatout ultimate carnage, maybe more that’s all i tried ..
the guys at the shop said the didn’t do anything in the OS besides installing a new sound driver ..
is there anything i can do to make them work without reinstalling windows?
btw i’m on vista ultimate sp1 x64
thanks
all those games run in 32bit, install vista ultimate sp1 x86
but it should emulate 32bit, but if you don’t have enough memory, it’ll take forever to load. i recommend sticking to 32bit (x86 architecture) until 64bit becomes more available w/ apps/games
I think that is windows xp the best option for you….
update all drivers, and directx. also, this is why im sticking with 32bit OS for a while – compatibility is.. poor some times
you guys are stupid. no offence. ALL of those games WORKED before and vista x64 is the best OS out .. and i have 4GB ram .. thanks anyways
updated you graphics card drivers? that may help
already did. the games worked with the old one anyways
~still need help~
if he replaced your old mobo, are you using all your hardware from the older one? your mobo may not support your current hardware. it will still work with unsupported hardware, but may cause slow down problems and other things to go wrong.
the sound card is different .. the mobo is the same model as the old one .. could my problem come from the sound card? i don’t really feel the computer as being slower than before .. i mean far cry 2 runs at very high ..
thanks for all the help.. i’ll get my old soundcard back probably next week .. will come with feedback then
i highly doubt the sound card would be the cause. i never heard of any sound card causing problems. what PSU do you have? it could be that your PSU is too weak to get the most potential out of the PC.
what don’t you get? you guys need to read .. EVERYTHING WORKED, CHANGED ONLY THE SOUNDCARD
so, my mobo died after a bios update that went wrong .. the guys at the shop sent it back to asus .. they replaced it .. and now my computer is back home
If the bios flash went wrong, then they did more than change the sound card to fix it!
My guess is incompatibility with something, if you are 100% sure you have re-updated everything after getting it back, (gfx/sound/ mobo drivers) then my guess is a reformat is the only option
Reading
Reading is a multi-dimensional cognitive process of decoding symbols for the purpose of deriving meaning (reading comprehension) and/or constructing meaning. Written information is received by the retina, processed by the primary visual cortex, and interpreted in Wernicke’s area.
Reading is a means of language acquisition, of communication, and of sharing information and ideas.
Readers use a variety of reading strategies to assist with decoding (to translate symbols into sounds or visual representations of language), and comprehension. Readers may use morpheme, semantics, syntax and context cues to identify the meaning of unknown words. Readers integrate the words they have read into their existing framework of knowledge or schema (schemata theory).
Other types of reading may not be text-based, such as music notation or pictograms.
Reading text is now an important way for the general population in many societies to access information and make meaning.

they gave me a new motherboard (same model ) because the old one couldn’t be repaired. the original soundcard was lost in the mail. they gave me a different soundcard until a new soundcard arrives. NOTHING else has changed. i updated the video driver. nothing has changed.
i have noticed that this soundcard is a piece of junk. the bass stoppes every time i insert an usb flash drive or install a driver w/e .. waiting for the new soundcard to arrive .. maybe all the problems will go away then
^^ Well done, good luck fixing your issue… /thread
people are trying their best to help you but what you don’t understand is ANYTHING could be wrong. you’re the one who needs to read. i do realize only games don’t run but it don’t matter. just because your computer runs everything else fine does not mean something went wrong with the computer.
it could be anything from a incompatibility issue to a OS issue and unless you don’t want to let people try to solve your problem, read…
the sound card would not be causing that. games WOULD work but sound would not. your PC can survive without a sound card but if you really think its the cause, take out the sound card and try playing a game then…

if i disable the soundcard most of my games give a “your system does not meet minimum requirements” error :/ .. overall the situation is really wierd .. i mean why do some games work and some don’t? nothing has really changed .. the motherboard is the same model as the old one .. the only new things are the soundcard and it’s driver ..
do you think that reinstalling the OS will not help my problem?
reinstalling the OS will always help a problem like this, because if the problem persists after a complete reinstall, then software can be eliminated as a factor, thus there is hardware failure

exactly…
if the OS isn’t the problem after you reinstall, it is a internal problem or possibly you don’t have drivers… i forgot to ask but does your sound card have drivers installed? i mean you didn’t install drivers off the sound card disc did you? you should always look on the brands website for updated drivers.

i had a problem with my asus after i updated my bios i ended up reformated my computer i’m also using the same OS as you.but i really don’t play pc games only emulator games except for bioshock.i see you got alone in the dark free as well or did you download it if so do you have a cracked.exe of it.
because i don’t like online activation games.i guess thats why i never installed it.
the soundcard driver was installed by the guys from the shop off the CD .. i reinstalled it but there was no change .. i’ll get a driver update software and try to get the latest drivers as i see that you guys insist on that
@(VENOM666)
it’s cracked by darkc0der and RELOADED by now .. there is no need for online activation ..
edit: nothing changed after new drivers .. i guess i’ll format and reinstall th os
