Friend got infected from W-BB advertisements?

Not possible. Active content is not allowed in post =/
Wise-San replied: very unlikely that the issue was caused by ... links posted on warez-bb.
You cant assume that. If he makes it to a thread before it is reported, he could have clicked on anything.
It’s very, very unlikely that the issue was caused by warez-bb or links posted on warez-bb.
To be honest it just sounds like your friend did something wrong and is looking to blame something or someone for his actions.
Also, why on earth doesn’t he have virus protection when MSE, AVG and Avira are completely free?

Not talking about something a member had posted, he was saying it was from one of the Ad banners. You know that thing that appears on the right side of..

I received an Alurean trojan from an ad so yes you aren’t the only one.
I know for a fact I downloaded no other files that day, I came on this site, and viruses started attacking my PC. I also have been receiving EXPLOT DROP GEN pop ups when coming on this site, luckily malwarebytes stops it. I think the admins are clueless to this problem even though it truly is an issue.
I don’t just get viruses, I don’t go to any fishy websites or download anything that isn’t from a trusted source. I hope this issue is resolved as we are going to see more and more posts like this.

Well, the forum admin will not post anything malicious. After you click on the ad banner, and where you may end up after that, is your responsibility.

I did not click any ad’s and received the virus. After installing malwarebytes pro it stopped all further attacks. So it’s not from clicking on ads…
I think what I’m going to do is give him my cracked copy of sandboxie when he uses his browser. So he doesn’t get this anymore. Still, staff need to sift through all the advertisement banners and make sure they are safe.
Malwarebytes blocks sites on every second page here.
And i dont click on anything, it automatically tries to connect.

So you know what I’m talking about then. No offense to the W-BB team with them trying to use ads to raise money to pay for the server, but I blocked them completely after I heard this happened with a friend of mine.

They will be fine with out your ad clicks, lol.

I promise the malware problem is a direct result from the user’s actions, and not at all related to browsing any links on warez-bb.org.
How can you block completely?
It still shows some. If they are not dangerous i dont mind.
use an Adblock …
I admit, Malwarebytes does block a lot of outgoing stuff when I visit here, a lot more than a few weeks back.
It may be worth those affected sending a link to this thread to either a Super Mod, or an Admin to investigate.
There is no active scripts running (that I have seen), but some of the ads are a bit flaky. I doubt you can get infected from these ads though unless you follow the banners.
I’ve never had any problems with warez-bb, so far.
And I’ve clicked on the banners occassionally, I’m sure of that
Maybe I’m just lucky, but honestly, did your friend receive some dodgy emails or had a friends usb stick in his computer, a short while before all this stuff started happening?
That’s a more likely scenario

No its more like stuff you can get infected from just by viewing the page. A few good examples is on..

I advise you though do NOT click on any of the links on there (unless you are running in sandboxie). Also my friend doesn’t get many visitors when he has to deal with a 3 yr old son, and his baby’s mama (they dont love each other lol… anyways)… so there hasn’t been anyone putting files on to his computer. It just simply started installing stuff on his computer without confirming anything.
How can i block all the links listed there?
Probably malwarebytes already does that i guess, huh?
Btw is malwarebytes still working while using sandboxie? And does it make a difference?
I never used sandboxie.

Malwarebytes uses definitions to detect if something is bad. Sandboxie does not need definitions.. it sets up a fence, around the application you set to use with sandboxie. Meaning you can go to any malware infected site and still be safe. Guarenteed to block 100%. Probably one of the best applications I have ever seen (thanks W-BB staff for showing me)

The WBB ads are what started me using Sandboxie. They do occasionally attempt to upload malware to people’s PC’s when the ad server gets hacked. Anyone who tries to say differently is very much mistaken. Just because they have never had the problem, doesn’t mean others do not. Their location is different so they are targeted by different Ad servers, servers which might not of been infected. It’s luck of the draw and it does happen!
People specifically target ad servers because they know that it is a very effective method of infecting PC’s.

Sorry but I don’t believe it, unless the Sandboxie install or crack was infected. If you managed to do that, you could probably manage to do anything.

Some of the ads are just bugged I guess, because just yesterday i only had Warez-BB tabs on, and I heard a video ad, so I closed them 1 by one and when i finally closed the 2nd to the last it stopped. Only happens once in a blue moon. Never got a virus from it though.
Recommend me the best ad block please.
Infected while using sandboxie? I am no expert, but you could write a virus the way it escapes sandboxie?
I think thats possible.
