There are many option. You can get IDM installed in wine on ubuntu also there is firefox addon Downthemall which is complete download manager. JDownloader is also there for linux too. You also get vmware where you can get windows installed.
He’s a linux man now. No wine, no vmware, no windows ~love~..
And he wants something automated, downloadthemall addon will require manually going through each link.
And yeah, don’t trust google too much. Google has been very naughty lately with chrome. Doing all kinds of bad ~love~.
Thanks to all for the help. It is really appreciated.
On FRD, do I download the binaries, source code, or both??

Ok, thanks. I’m fairly new to Linux, but I love it. Still have lots to learn. I have found out the hard way that it’s real easy to screw stuff up too if you don’t know what you are doing. Is the run code typed into terminal? I installed java run time 7 and have downloaded and extracted FRD, but I wanna make sure I run right to avoid later problems (Too many time consuming re-installs.) LOL Thanks
JDownloader is cross platform and is as automated as it gets just copy the links it picks them up checks them and returns if they are online or offline I use it to check if links are still online or not at times. The program is also open source so you can dig around in the code if you so choose. Site is www.jdownloader.org
Moved from Forum Comments to Helpdesk.
If anyone can help me on the installation of FreeRapidDownloader and Jdownloader, I would appreciate as I apparently have no clue. I did do a sudo apt-add for the site on the Jdownloader succesfully and thought I downloaded and extracted the right package as it self labeled as Debian, but can’t install as I have never done this. I’m sorry if this is considered a double post as I’m not really sure what that is, I’m just trying to get a little help so that I can make better use of which I have come to love. Thanks
Once you’ve extracted FRD, just – cd into the directory using your console
– and use the command
sudo nohup java -jar frd.jar &
Thank you very much. I’ve set a new goal to learn this terminal stuff so that I don’t feel like such a dummy.
[mod]Please don’t bypass our words’ censor.
rObNbAnKz[/mod]Linux is for ~love~…lol
So u cant say ~ censored ~ ? But U can say SHIT ? what a joke !!!!!!!!
WTF is this forum coming to. when U cant even joke .. Me thinks it is time to review my options with WBB (very Sad indeed)
They say you are what you eat. And Windows is for it e its. Lol
If you have decent RAM, get jdownloader and use the light debian skin. You have to add the repository of jd to get the app. Open terminal and then:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jd-team/jdownloader
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install jdownloader
I got a 3GHz PD dual core with 3GB DDR2
Then get it it’s a very handy program for me it’s the best d/l manager.
Thanks alot Jack-Torrance, Master of . LOL. You def deserve the title. The info you have given me is the first success I’ve had and now I have it. I’ve been kinda running blind on the other info and have had 0% success on this topic until now. That was really simple. Thank you.
