has always been a good one when i first started out. was free forever.
That link (removed by the spam filter kind of) is good for 1 to 12 months and it becomes paid if you want to renew. A question … even if you find a free domain (and I’m assuming you want something.com not something.bigsite.com with forced ads etc), what do you intend to do with it? Hosting on your own server?
Many hosts will give you one free domain if you sign up for yearly hosting deal.
