Divx is making my win7 crash completely? (I think)

Have searched for this but can’t find anything specific to my problem.. First time it was what others have had when explorer crashes when opening certain folders. Then it escalated to not being able to do anything because I would consistently get the error message over and over every time I closed the message. I reinstalled the os and all was ok, until I installed divx. It was literally the second the installation finished it started up again. Any suggestions would be massively appreciated. Thanks

I doubt DivX is causing your system crash. List your specs, and also test your ram, and test your HDD for bad sectores.

Do a system restore and scan your HDD for infections.

you install any codecs or players before that
what di you use divx for ?

DivX can sometimes crash the explorer, due to thumbnail problems, not sure if it can crash the windows, do a system restore and check if its works better without DivX installed.

Or just uninstall DivX and see how you go.
It’s an unnecessary load of bloatware anyhow!
