Disable WGALogon?

January 24th, 2020

So, just right before I log in (before you get onto the desktop) I get a quick line saying:
Executing:
C:/WINDOWS/System32/WGALogon.dll…
Followed by the XP logo and desktop…
I want to activate my XP, so how can I disable this feature? Just remove it from the specified path? Disable a start-up on boot?

No, that’s not what I meant.
I have downloaded an XP ISO and the guy who uploaded it allready installed some kind WGALogon that bypasses the “WGA” (as explained on your link). So now i want to activate my XP but there is this “hack” installed and everytime when I boot up it mentions:
C:/WINDOWS/System32/WGALogon.dll...
(note: the dot-dot-dot are included in the link, not made up.)
So I’m not getting any WGA pop-ups or “activate within 30 days”. I want to remove the bypass and activate with my code. Is this possible without too much hassle and errors?

The link explains how to disable WGATray which is used to load WGALogin.dll. When you’re logging on, the popup you’re seeing is the WGATray/WGALogin loading, so when you remove it and reboot it won’t be loaded as per:

Obviously set up a restore point in case your pre-cracked copyhas any issues moving this file.

Hi, there is no pop up I’m seeing. This is what I see:

Don’t mind the black cut (I cut something out), it just says “executing file” and then beneath it showing the path. As you see, it’s on the windows logon screen and it just takes like 0.2 seconds…
(so the uploader of the XP ISO which I have downloaded from has included this bypass inside windows/system32 or something). I’m just not sure if I could break this thing if I just delete that file. So basically I want the windows XP activating dialogue back so I can activate with my serial. This trick is good and works fine but if you have a serial, just use it would be my guess?

Okay, sorry for the confusion. In some environments the loading doesn’t appear in the centre of the screen, it’ll appear in the top left in a grey pop up.
The problem with simply entering a serial is that WGA will probably block it. You can try activating with WGA installed using the instructions below http://pcsupport.about.com/od/osproductkeys/ss/change-windows-xp-product-key_8.htm
You may want to go to the first page if there’s already a serial entered.
However WGA will probably stop it add mentioned. So remove WGA as per my earlier post, or another guide is at
https://sites.google.com/site/spacebag/wga-notify-index2
You may not be receiving pop ups yet but this is the service that will eventually cause them to pop-up (there’s a grace period), so remove it and either activate using the supplied crack you mentioned, an activator from this forum or the method in my second link.
