Destination Folder Access Denied in Windows 8, 8.1

January 26th, 2020

I have just recently encountered this very irritating problem on Windows 8.1. I am using bootcamp on a mac and I can access and transfer files from the Mac partition and put them into the Windows partition no problem but today I tried to send files from the windows – back to the mac but I keep getting this headache of a message “Destination Folder Access Denied in Windows 8.1” and as usual I am given no explanation of why this is happening or how to fix it. I looked it up on google and followed instructions to right click on the c drive and change the admin properties then it said to make sure everything on the list is allowed. All items already were already allowed except for the special permissions which for some reason is grayed out and will not allow me to select it so basically the solution I found is of no use so please can somebody help me fix yet another frustrating computer problem

when you tried to increase your security settings, did you click on the “logged in” user for these changes?

Don’t do this, for the love of god don’t do this. If you’ve already modified the permissions of system folders do a complete reformat to fix it.

If you allowed complete access on the whole drive you will have a lot of problems.
