data recovery help

hi my friend lost all his stuff off his hard drive he has a date recovery program which so far has found 267 avi files
but he would have to go thru them all and re name them.
is there anything that will do that for you? he says the actual title is imbedded in the file somewhere but obviously be nice if the programme would name them what they are supposed to be for him…..
any help would be appreciated thanks

i’m sorry, but the recoveried data have no name (the info about the name ecc have been deleted when he removed the files from his hd). he can just go through them to find what he needs.

The specific program doesn’t display file names because its using RAW recovery , Ignoring the file system,You should
tell him to use file scavenger with a long scan,If the drive shows on my computer and it asks if to format when
clicked then choose no when file scavenger asks if to search for deleted files (As its a file table corruption)
Also , Its common knowledge by just incase , A file is recoverable only when no new data replaces it , So
never recover the data to the same partition
