Cyberlink Power Director & Windows 8 Nightmare
August 6th, 2016
Cyberlink Power Director keeps crashing when using on windows 8.
I’ve tried new and old versions of the programme.
I’m running windows 8.1
I downloaded the ‘fix’ patch from cyberlink to get it working with windows 8.
It still keeps crashing when trying to produce the video.
Help please?
Or is the only answer to ditch windows 8 and go back to 7?
I’ve always said windows 8 is too new to trust running every program people have. it must have, like in previous versions of windows, hundreds of megabytes of patches to go. that being said, have you tried running it as administrator?. another thing, you can try win7 compatibility mode, and try turning off your antivirus.

Thanks, but still wont work.
Just freezes when trying to produce the movie.
I’ll go back to windows 7 in a few weeks when I have the time I think.
I can’t stand this crap anymore.
You could try using a decent video editing suite like Premier. Cyberlink is junk

I disagree
Cyberlink is easy and also gives very good results.
I tried the adobe software the other month and it would’nt even recognise my .mts file !
Plus the menus and tools really are unnecessarily complicated.
And I don’t think the results areany better… or even as good.
I’m so frustrated that i cant use cyberlink properly because I thinks its GREAT software.
