Counter Strike Source Help

January 24th, 2020

Okay, so I had this computer, and CSS worked perfectly on it, but then, I changed it with my dads computer which, hardware wise is better.
It has better graphics, faster proccessor, etc.
Anyways, they were connected on the same network.
So after I changed them I installed Steam, and CSS.
But here’s the thing, IT LAGGS.
And I don’t know how to fix it, I have no clue what the problem could be, I mean it worked better on my old shittier computer….
So what’s the deal?
Thanks to anyone that tries to help!

It may be the firewall blocking steam or cs itself, check anti viro firewall and ur defoult system firewall if u have one, u have to have an exception maked (allow traffic or smthing like this) for net using aps. Don’t know if its it but only this came to my mind.

Try entering the console and entering:
cl_cmdrate 5
cl_updaterate 5
rate 20000

Answer #5
Are you talking lag while playing single player or online?
Answer #6
@ : What do you mean?
I have no clue how to see that, or figure that out… sorry… :/
@ : I’m talking about online play, like the settings that I set in CSS for the video are really low, like the resolution and stuff.
But bitdefender, has that little File Zone + Net Zone graph at the bottom of my desktop, and it tells me how much usage is going on, and the Net Zone is usually always full, especially when I download stuff, and it was never like that on my old PC, even though it’s on the exact same network, just a different wire, now the wire is kind of damaged I think, could that be it?
