Corrupted video file, Can it be repaired?

August 7th, 2013

Hello, I recorded a video with my camera, stored on the SD Card, but wether it’s tried playing via the camera or pc media player it won’t play. The camera says “cannot play file” and the pc says not supported (VLC, quicktime, WVP) is there anything I can do to sort this out, it is saved as a .MTS file. Another thing is if you look at it’s properties, it says date, time and size (1.5gb) of the file, but resolution and bitrate info are blank
Answer #1
if it’s avi you might have a chance
use an editor to cut the bad parts
Answer #2
Get MediaInfo and check the video/audio compression. You will need to install the corresponding codec to play on pc.
Answer #3
Container and general information
1.40gb
thats all it says, if I load a video i know i can play it tells me everything about it
