connect my pc to my tv wireless

July 25th, 2016

I have a Western Digital player conected to my tv.
I can log in my pc from my TV and watch movies from pc.
Now i want (if its possible) to watch a video that can only be played on PC to my TV.
make it like a projector. Can i do that wireless or do i need a cable to do so?
My pc doesn’t have a HDMI port for connection with TV. Can i just connect it with a scart caple and done?

I don’t think that’s the right approach to be honest.
You could simply use a video converter to convert it to a format supported by your WD player
and that’s that! (Would only take you a few hours) and would save you a lot of headache!
But in answer to your question, Yeah, It’s possible with a wireless media streamer.
There are some affordable ones in the $40-50 price range, But wireless networking does
have it’s con’s, And if you got a cheap router (Without MIMO or SST support) and it’s not
in the same room as the TV, Odds are you’ll have lousy reception, Which will translate to poor
picture quality or buffering issues. So going wired would be better by far! I can’t advise you on which cable to use without knowing what video card & TV you have tho.
But again, You’d be best just taking the easy way out and convert it to another format!

Or learn the lesson and dump the wd paperweight for a HTPC

I agree with Roberto, you need a wireless adapter for the TV (or WD player) or a wireless media streamer.
As for the software, I strongly recommend:
http://xbmc.org
It’s present on almost all (mainstream) platforms.
P.S. The media streamer and your network’s router need to have UPnP/DMCA enabled, but most of them do nowadays.
