Confused in jailbreaking iPod Touch 3.1.3 (2G)

I’d jailbroken my iPod Touch (2G) 3.1.1 about a year ago. At that time iPod Touch was on untethered Jailbreak (Don’t remember exactly whether it was called tethered or untethered .. All I remember is I’d to run Blackra1n again). But I was facing some weird problems later on. and That’s why I upgraded it to 3.1.3 Official Firmware. Now I want to jailbreak it again. When I search now, I’m getting too many results.. And I just thought, It will again take too much time to investigate about current, which I obviously don’t have.
My Questions are:
1) I’m on 3.1.3.. Will my iPod take iOS 4.0? 2) In any case, Can anyone just list task what I should perform along with links?
I am really out of time my friends.. and My iPod is as good as useless since last 8 months.
Any Help will greatly appreciated..

1) I was considering updating to ios 4 but gave up after hearing so many complaints about short battery life and wifi problems…can’t use any of those functions with iPod Touch2g anyway…I’m using 3.1.3 jailbroken now…

If you are on 3.1.3 use SPIRIT JB to jailbreak it ( it’s also untethered JB )
