Cant install windows 7

September 26th, 2013

Hi
Am having trouble installing windows 7 which i recently downloaded. I have a oem 32 bit version but have upgraded my pc to 8gb so i wanted to go 64 bit. when trying to install windows I cannot find any hdd’s as it wont allow me to load the RAID drivers off my motherboards disc as there are “unsigned” drivers. I get an error in the installation and it wont allow me to continue. I cant install/upgrade through windows either… just doesnt seem possible to do 32-64… Was gonna try installing linux and then going from there but idk if that will work either, kinda doubting it.
Any way to get this to work? without abandoning RAID….

If you are installing off a disk that has both the 32-bit and the 64-bit version of windows then the installer GUI will load the 32-bit version automatically.
It will have problems using the 64-bit drivers you try to install and will throw an error about unsigned drivers even though they are signed.
So what you do is:
1. Load the 32-bit version of the SATAII driver
2. Load the 64-bit version of the SATAII driver (you should now be able to see the drives in the list but it won't let you install to the drive because of an error)
3. Re-insert the windows install disc
4. Refresh the list
5. The error should have gone away and you can now install.
Worst bug ever.

Quite a bit about it if you Google “Load unsigned raid drivers ” !
