Install problem from Windows 8 Pro to Windows 10 Pro
February 6th, 2020
Wanted to install windows 10 Pro, but no dice.
I have used the windows media creation tool to dl 32 bit version
burn iso to dvd, booted from dvd
then error ‘system thread exception not handled’
that is it, cannot go any further.
I did try before some already activated win 10 pro 32 bit version on here, but was getting installation failed.
I would have to guess that the KMSpico loader and the win key its using is the problem.
Any help trying to get 10 installed and understanding what the cause is would be much appreciated
Pete
no one has an idea?
Activation will not cause any installation errors as it’s only done after the installation is complete..
The cause of the error could be a hardware problem..
Did you try updating the Bios?
Installing on a good clean partition?
If you have EUFI bios, then you can set it to partition in GPT
Otherwise MBR works OK.
You can let the install disk set it up and install for you.
I shall give a try, thanx for the help, will report back
Maybe your download is ~ censored ~ up. Get the wzor or the CLEANiSO iso and install from there. Had issues with digital download also. About activation easier way is installing win7, activate with daz loader and then upgrade to 10 from there. It should activate without any issues forever or until MS decides to check activation keys which then you can use ksm activtion.
Why are you using the 32bit version?
The 32bit version don’t support UEFI mode, the problem may be this.
If you are using a relatively new computer, you must use the 64bit version.
its an old laptop that I inherited, came with 7 on it.
Make sure if its 32 or 64 bit chip. I have older laptop here thats still 64 bit. Also make sure all your specs are fine with win 10. I bet theres an issue with some hardware not being up to par. Good luck!
Yep, still no dice
I have tried installing 8.1, can’t even get that to work.
tried wzor and cleaniso versions, not happening
I believe I have a volume lic using kms, could that be the problem?
didn’t go the update bios route
here is a text file win generated after entering this cmnd “Licensingdiag.exe -report %userprofile%\desktop\report.txt -log %userprofile%\desktop\repfiles.cab”
