Can’t copy Gran Turismo 5 Save Data on External HDD

you need to press triangle and copy the save game. But it seems that GT5 had a save game lock when the game was released. Sony released an update and the save game isn’t protected anymore. I guess since you can’t update your ps3, you can’t transfer any save files.
