Bootdisk for WIndows Vista? Urgent

I have a laptop that was given to me by my university but it does not boot, i think some files got corrup when my computer froze and i had to hard reset it. How can i access my harddrive to save all my document before reformating my harddrive? Do i use a boot disk and if so what bootdisk and how

Hiren’s BootCD > Mini Windows XP…Use Windows Explorer to copy your files over…You also find recovery tools in the Menu…

so using hirens boot cd it will let me boot into an OS like thingy i’m guessing and then i can access my harddrive and document and so forth and save everything?

lol @ OS like thingy.
Yes, it will boot into an OS that’s on the disc so you’ll be able to access your HDD as if it were an external drive. From there you can copy anything you want to save to an external HDD, flash drive, etc.

If Hiren’s doesn’t work for you for some reason (it happens with some notebooks) try MSDarT
