Copy/Paste?!
Cut/Paste?
CTRL + C/CTRL + V
CTRL + X/CTRL + V
Teracopy has always been good to me, Gives me reliable info(I work in IT)
The alternative is xCopy(command prompt) with various flags.
I think what we use in work is /s /h /e /c
/s is copy subdirectories, /h is hidden files and folders, /e is empty, and /c is to continue copying even if errors occur.
Robocopy (Robust File Copy) (but it doesn’t have a GUI)
If you are using Win 7 it’s built in.
Teracopy can cause issues whereby systems experience Windows memory leaks after installing it, so would advise against using that.
Don’t ever cut/paste files, only copy/paste then delete the originals – if you have a power failure mid-way you lose data.
I use Altap Salamander , it’s a powerful explorer and I’ve copied about 300gb from an harddrive to an external (nas) it went great , you can after compare both hard drive to see if there’s something different or checksum , but 1.5tb of data might take a while to do a checksum , depending on how many files they are (I guess a lot ahaha)
Teracopy its my opinion. i always use Teracopy.
CloneZilla or Ghost32.. no sense in doing in an unstable Windows enviornment..
I gotta agree with some of the others. TeraCopy has never did me wrong. It will check CRC before/after the files have been moved to make sure they copied over correctly.

I gotta say I have never had such an issue with TeraCopy and I had it installed for over over 10 months now. Not saying it’s impossible for what you experienced/heard, but just because it happened to you and maybe a few unlucky people, doesn’t mean it happens to everyone
Thanks for all the replys i would have reply’d sooner but lost my iphone on the bus run to the shop to block the IMIE and sim just to find it had been handed in lol now i gota wait 48 hrs to get it acivated again but hey back on subject
I think im gona try Teracopy if that dont work i will try Altap Salamander as i like the idear about checksum on the both programs
wo_Ot? ive tryd
Copy/Paste?!
Cut/Paste?
CTRL + C/CTRL + V
CTRL + X/CTRL + V
but some folders wernt the same size aka missing sum file’s so i dont think this would be my best option as i would have to go through every folder / file and check the properties of it

It’s never happened to me, I use Robocopy (that’s what it’s for).
I’m just passing on info from what I have seen posted on tech boards about Teracopy.
Why bother installing a 3rd party app to do something anyway ?
Thanks for the info. I didn’t know all of these. I will note this software: teracopy. I hope free version will do

I found a GUI for Robocopy, it’s been working great for me. It even works through the 255 character limit for files.
It’s called WinRoboCopy and you can get it here:

I’ll bear that in mind thanks
I have no problems personally using the command line, but some people need a GUI.
*edit – I have just remembered, -paroxysM^ also recommended RichCopy in the past, reading up on it, it has some improvements on the Robocopy GUI
